Vietnam – Day 1 – Two Days of Travel

After months of anticipation, the trip is finally upon us. As excited as we are about being in Vietnam, I can’t say I feel the same way about more than 23 hours of travel with layovers. The good news is Cat has a Priority Pass that allows us access into the airport lounges, so we can get snacks and cocktails, in a quiet place with wifi, between flights!
There’s our ride!
Off we go!
Ugh…6600 miles!
International flights equal free beer and wine. I’m not sure what “Original Gravity” means, but Kloud was an appropriate name. This beer was VERY carbonated and creamy.
On Asiana airlines you get Asiana food! Bibimbap for dinner on the plane. The gochujang in the tube was a nice touch.
During our layover in Seoul Cat insisted we get to the food court after getting several recommendations from friends about the food in the Seoul airport. It did not disappointment. A traditional Korean soup, Seolleongtang, made from an Ox bone broth.
We slept a lot on the planes. We’re trying hard to adjust to the time change and land feeling rested and ready for our first day in Vietnam. We left Los Angeles at 11pm on Thursday night, and we’ll be landing in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC)/Saigon at 11am, so we’ll have to hit the ground running.
