Storming Seattle

News spreads fast, especially news of our one day trips! We usually get a few hours to pounce on cheap flight deals so it was a pleasant surprise when we had eight friends unhesitatingly purchase their flights to join us. Rich and I have visited this gloomy city before on our way to Alaska but it’s so much more intense to storm Seattle with a large group of fun-loving people in just a day. As expected, there was good seafood and beautiful city views!
First stop is Pike Place Market for grilled cheese sandwiches from Beecher’s and the best clam chowder at Pike Place Chowder!
When a stranger hands you a crab leg, you take it! Especially when that stranger is tossing fish at the PIke Place Fish Market.
Adding our own contribution to the Gum Wall!
Did someone say “oyster shooters”? Yes, please!
More oysters at Taylor Shellfish Farms….
Obligatory visit to the Space Needle.
We did not have enough time to visit the Chihuly Garden and Glass, so we took a peek…
We came upon this multi-sensory children’s playground called “Artists at Play” and had a great time making music with these pipe-like bells!
The whole gang!
The key to a successful day trip is staying hydrated! To do so, we made some stops to relax (and of course, have a taste or two of whiskey).
Rich and I visited the Rabbit Hole previously and had to come back for a re-match at Skee-ball! As you can tell, we take competition quite seriously!
We’ve never traveled with such a large group for a one day trip but we couldn’t ask for better travel companions. If you love food and random adventures, join us on the next one!
