Roughing it in Sequoia
The title is ironic. There is nothing about this trip that was roughing it. Between Jenn’s gourmet menu, Paul’s delicious French Press coffe, Chris and Amy’s hammock and overall outdoor experience, and our portable movie setup, there wasn’t much left to want for. It was like moving a living room outdoors!
We had a great time with friends camping in Sequoia National Park. Jenn and Paul were nice enough to load up the car early Friday morning and drive all over the park to find us a campsite. When the rest of us arrived at 1am we were sure glad to have a campsite reserved and setup for us. First up, coffee and breakfast.
Paul was a lifesaver with the French press coffee
Most important meal of the day
We needed that breakfast fuel for the hike that led us to all of these beautiful views
Cat peeking out of the hammock
Delicious grilled cheese and home made tomato soup
These steaks were incredible. They took about 2 hours to cook!
Steak, brussel sprouts, garlic red potatoes, and camp fire mac and cheese
We finished off the night with beers and a movie. Fantastic Mr. Fox to wrap up the day.
