Cheap airline tickets just keep coming. With Chicago being such a success, we decided to take another 1 day trip. This time we brought some more friends along. Since we’ve all been to San Francisco before, we didn’t worry as much about seeing the sites. This trip was purely for food.
We were all a little tired when we landed in Oakland at 7:30am, but everyone sucked it up and headed for San Francisco:
First stop, Dim Sum in Chinatown at Good Mong Kok:
Who doesn’t like second breakfast? Straight from Dim Sum to B Star for Mimosas and Burmese food:
And if you haven’t gotten your fill yet, here we go to Fisherman’s Wharf for seafood. Mostly for Nick’s Lighthouse clam chowder in a bread bowl. Don’t go into the restaurant. Eat in the street and try to keep the birds from attacking your bread:
Cat even got to cook a live lobster!
Time to slow down on the eating, and pickup the drinking. From the warf we headed to Blackbird Bar for cocktails and pool:
What’s better than pizza for soaking up alcohol? Off to Golden Boy for some slices:
It’s been fun, but it’s time to head back to Oakland to make sure we don’t miss our flight. But since we’re heading to Oakland, how about a stop at The Trappist:
Time to head home:
Another awesome day trip. It’s amazing how much you can accomplish in a new city with just a few hours. Total time, including travel, 17 hours.
